My Engineering Lead is a Telegram Bot
Feb 5, 2026
I just spent the last 24 hours building, deploying, and managing production systems without opening a single terminal on my laptop. Instead, I did it all from Telegram using OpenClaw.
Here’s what a “normal” day looks like when your assistant has a terminal, a browser, and a brain.
1. Zero-Friction Web Deployments
I needed to update the legal address on wirestaq.com. Usually, this involves a whole ritual: open VS Code -> edit files -> git commit -> git push -> wait for CI/CD.
With OpenClaw on Telegram, I just sent a message: “Add this address to the terms page and push to Cloudflare.”
The bot:
- Located the local source code.
- Edited the HTML (and updated the JSON-LD for SEO).
- Committed changes to GitHub.
- Used the Wrangler CLI to push it live to Cloudflare.
I just watched the progress logs in my chat.
2. Spawning Infrastructure on Demand
Next, I wanted to set up a self-hosted Mattermost instance. I didn’t SSH into my server once.
- Me: “How do we install Mattermost?”
- OpenClaw: “I’ll use Docker. Paste your Cloudflare Tunnel token here.”
- Me: (Pasts token)
- OpenClaw: “Docker installed. Mattermost containers up. Tunnel established. You’re live at mm.nahidhq.com.”
The bot even diagnosed a malformed token error on the fly, told me exactly what I did wrong, and fixed it as soon as I provided the correct one.
3. The Multi-Agent Workflow
While the bot was installing heavy Docker images in the background, it didn’t stay “busy.” It spawned a sub-agent to handle the long-running installation and kept the main chat open for me. Every 5 minutes, it chimed in with a progress report: “Still downloading PostgreSQL… almost there.”
4. Real-time Site Maintenance
Today, I decided to refresh my personal portfolio (joynahid.github.io). I had the bot:
- Clone my Astro repository.
- Remove three legacy project cards.
- Add a new card for my “AI Native OS” project (Ongoing, 2026).
- Redesign the header: It increased my profile photo size from 35px to 55px and added a custom hover animation and ring effect.
One message. Zero context switching.
The Bigger Picture
We talk a lot about “AI replacing jobs,” but this is about AI extending reach. I’m essentially a 10x developer right now because I have an autonomous engineer sitting in my pocket. I don’t “prompt” it; I delegate to it.
If you’re still using AI just to write emails, you’re missing the point. The future is an Autonomous OS that lives where you already talk to your friends.
